WWII Veteran, Sergeant Thomas "Sparky" Bristol 98 years of age (center right), visited Nutmeg Soaring Saturday, August 20 and enjoyed a ride in our Grob 103 Twin Astir. Nutmeg flight instructor, Russ Parry (Left), was honored to be the pilot in command. Sparky served as a B-25 Tail Gunner, completing 54 missions over Burma, China, and flying over "the hump", fighting the Japanese. Sergeant Mark Farmilette (center left) and Tom May (right), both Vietnam Veterans, assisted with the glider launch. Stephan Bradicich, Marine Corps aviator and Afghanistan Veteran, was our tow pilot. Sparky, Mark, Tom, Stephan, thank you for your service!
