For a nine-day period, from October 16–26, 2026, Amtrak will implement a temporary service outage at “A-Interlocking” to replace aging track components and improve reliability along the Northeast Corridor and into the Southeast.

Once completed, this investment will deliver:
🛡️ Improved safety and reliability
⏱️ Fewer delays and better on-time performance
🏗️ Modern infrastructure for future demand

During the outage, crews will:
🛤️ Replace outdated switches and crossovers
🧱 Rehabilitate the tunnel track base
⚡ Install modern electric switch systems

FAMPO needs your help renaming the 2055 LRTP! Names that are catchy and fun allow the document’s graphics and content to be themed and easier for readers to digest. We’re inspired by names such as FXBG Forward, the KC Spirit Playbook, and Plan A: Atlanta’s Comprehensive Development Plan.

Last week we said celebrated our longest-standing member Chris Yakabouski, as he steps away from the Policy Board as a primary voting member.

His insights, experience, and dedication to regionalism will be greatly missed!

Some photos we took when University of Mary Washington students came by for a City as Text session! We did a deep dive into our traffic/land use mapping tools to show how/what FAMPO tracks and the conditions of the region before working on designing an idea campus.
