WHAT SIZE HANGAR DO I NEED? You've purchased your Aviation lot and planning your build. You currently own a RV-8 and just need a small hangar. A 40 x 40 hangar would be more than enough space, you tell yourself that "I'm currently renting a T-hangar." I try to remind my clients that they always need to think about resale. Will it be enough space for the people that you may want to entice as as buyers at a later date? Many pilots have more than one aircraft. Will it be large enough to house your mower, camper, trailer, car or even another airplane? How about a bathroom? Shop? I've never had anyone tell me that they wished that they would have built a smaller hangar. I've had many say that they should have built larger - it wouldn't have cost that much more at the time. I always recommend to build as large as the Airpark will allow, or as large as your budget can allow, taking the above items into consideration. It will pay you back in the end and you will get to enjoy the space while you are there.
