Venango County Independent Living Program Who is eligible for IL services?

Youth in foster care should be provided IL services designed to assist them in preparing for employment, education, and successful management of adult responsibilities. Pennsylvania's purpose for providing IL services to youth in care and those who have exited care is to make every effort possible to reduce or eliminate the instances of homelessness, poverty and deliquent or criminal behavior. The

intent of these services is to increase employability, high school graduation rates, enrollment in post-secondary or vocational institutions and to support the successful transition from your to adulthood. Eligible youth must be:

1) at least 16 years old, but no more than 21 years of age
2) be in or have been in out of home placement on or after age 16
3) and have been adjudicated dependent or dually adjudicated dependent and delinquent or adjudicated delinquent with Shared Case Responsibility between CYS and JPO.
