A travel advisor reality check...
I think there's a misconception that travel advisors are discount stores.
We're not.
Have I saved clients money? Absolutely.
Have I found better promotions, onboard credit, price drops, group amenities, and helped people avoid expensive mistakes? 100%.
But here's the part many travelers don't realize...
The cruise line sets the price.
In many cases, the price I see is the same price you see.
So if you've already decided you're booking direct if the price is the same, that's completely your choice.
What I ask is that you be honest about that before asking a travel advisor to spend hours researching ships, comparing cabins, answering questions, reading forms, and holding inventory.
Travel advisors don't get paid to do research for people who have already decided not to use their services.
We get paid when clients choose to use our services and actually travel.
I post travel tips, promotions, cruise news, maps, reviews, and advice every day for free because I genuinely enjoy helping people.
I love my followers.
What I don't love is being price shopped.
The value of a travel advisor isn't a lower price.
The value is knowing which cabin to avoid.
Which ship fits your style.
Which promotion is actually a deal.
Which mistakes can cost you money.
And having someone in your corner when things go wrong.
Same price doesn't mean same value.
