🧐 Corrosion Vocabulary: CREVICE CORROSION 🧐

Sometimes, the smallest spaces create the biggest problems.

Crevice corrosion is localized corrosion that occurs in confined areas where moisture and corrosive contaminants can become trapped—such as under fasteners, joints, or between overlapping surfaces.

Sealing potential entry points can help prevent moisture intrusion and reduce corrosion risk.

Understanding where corrosion can hide is an important part of effective corrosion control.

Stay tuned for the next term in our Corrosion Vocabulary series! ✈️

Av-DEC products prevent corrosion by completely sealing the entire contact surface area. If contamination is not fully removed from the contact surface prior to application, the sealant may not adhere properly, and moisture paths or pockets may form.
