A new-to-us stop on 259 after we hit the Maze and Mini Golf, is a place that needs to be recognized and visited if you’re in Hochatwon!! Cabin Daddy is such a cute little place for all kinds of gifts and souvenirs! We have our normal places we used to stop, but now we have a new place that is excellent! We were able to grab two souvenirs for our kids (crack balls and hot sauce from their large variety of sauces wnd jams), and a new durable toy for our 100lb dog! They have cute tshirts, towels, all things outdoors, and a very cute little kid nook in the upstairs area. Photo ops sit outside their door, and with some construction happening around them, we can only hope that more construction brings more business to Cabin Daddy!! Tell your friends, tell your family… tell everyone to stop at Cabin Daddy before or after the maze and show them some love!!! It’s worth it, I promise!! ❤️❤️

We’ve been to Hochatown 5 times in the last 3 years and this was our first time to try Buffalo Grill - Hochatown…. And we discovered that we’ve been missing out!!

Not a huge place, so we would’ve had to wait about 30-45 minutes for a table, or we could’ve opted for a bar-room table. We opted for that and got seated right away. The service was super fast. The bartender came to greet us and give us his recommendations and we got our order placed right away. I got a peach cocktail of some sort and it was really yummy! Peter got a Mountain Fork Brewery Sneaky Snake beer, and he really loved it (enough that we stopped by and grabbed a 4 pack to take home with us). For our appetizer, we got some really great loaded fries. Waffle fries with ground beef, tomatoes, cheese, jalapeños, and I don’t even know what else but they were amazing! For our meals, I got the catfish dinner, which was a perfect size. Not too much to where I had leftovers, but just enough to make me super full 🙂 the side of okra and mashed potatoes were so good too, and you can’t forget my favorite hush puppy sticks!! So good!! Peter got a burger called the Noah burger or something, and it was basically two of everything. He loved it as well, and said the Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious!

We are so happy we finally stopped in, and we definitely decided it would be a return stop on our future visits to the town. ❤️

Heading back to Broken Bow for our one year anniversary, I have to share the cabin we stayed at almost two years ago when we got engaged on new years of 2022!

Paradise Lost cabin in Broken Bow…This cabin is a good place for a couple, as it just has one main room — the bed, living room, and kitchen are essentially in the same room! There’s even a bathtub in the room too — which we found a little odd, but to each their own! (The separate bathroom has a very nice shower!)

The hot tub didn’t have a tv (our must-have normally!), and it was open to the main road that went by the cabin, so it wasn’t just the best, but at least there was a hot tub! 🙂 The area wasn’t too bad… a little drive back from the main highway going through town, set back with many other cabins nearby, though, so don’t expect a lone cabin in the deep dark woods!

A nice little one bedroom cabin, for a romantic getaway!

The latest cabin we stayed in was equally amazing…but with a few drawbacks, but I think we would stay here again with the kids, given the hot tub situation was fixed 🙂

This cabin is called Unplugged, offered by Vacana Properties (https://www.vacana.com/vacation-rentals/unplugged/). It’s a little drive (maybe 5-10 mins) past Hochatown, so it’s really away from the main strip of cabins. But the “neighborhood” it sits in os growing…lots of construction happening. It sits back from the highway, but you can still hear the road noise, but it wasn’t too bad.

The rooms are amazing. Has THE BEST blankets ever (I ordered and had one delivered by the time I got back home haha). The upstairs has a room and then another open room with a daybed and trundle. Two bathrooms upstairs and one downstairs with the master bedroom.

The covered patio is AMAZING. Plenty of seating for many guests. I lounged on the outdoor sofa in the comfy blanket and caught up on some reading. The hot tub is the only big negative to our stay. We overlooked the fact that we couldn’t see the patio tv from it (we got spoiled at the first cabin!), but when we sat in the water for the first time, we quickly realized how grimy and dirty the water was, as particles were floating around us. We got out and put in an email to the owners, to see if we could clean it or get someone out to clean it. It was a night/day long fiasco, where they came out and told us to drain it and scrub it if we wanted, which we did, and it was so dirty(I’ll spare you the dirty towel pics). The next day, after refilling it and waiting all day for someone else to be sent out to help, they finally came and shocked it and it was up and running for our last day. We get cabins with hot tubs because that’s mainly what we want to do when we come…relax in the hot tub with a book or a tv show. It was disappointing when we didn’t get the quick feedback and help that we thought we should’ve gotten, and we had to clean the mess ourselves if we wanted it actually clean. So yeah.

But otherwise, I loved this place. The lights around the patio and fire were great. The fact that I could see deer outside the front door was also a selling point for me! I think our kids would love this place, and it’s definitely staying on our list 🙂

The price for a weekend in June right now runs about $315 a night or so… kinda pricey, maybe, but if you split it with a couple or have the chance to splurge, do it! It’s beautiful!!

One of our favorite places we have to eat at every time we’re in Hochatown…. Grateful Head Pizza Oven & TapRoom!! If you go on Friday or Saturday nights, expect a wait! There are a few little gift shops to browse on site, though, while you wait! I suggest going early for lunch or maybe around the 3pm hour, to beat the crowds! But either way, their pizza is amazing!! Get the cheesy bread appetizer! You can’t make a bad choice here at Grateful Head! And you get to keep the cute and colorful plastic cups!!

Our first Broken Bow Cabin: Kiss Me in the Dark by Almost Heaven Luxury Cabins, LLC. We stayed here last year at this time, and it was absolutely beautiful!

The cabin looks amazing in the daytime and just as gorgeous at night. This is where my obsession with buying something every cabin has, got started. Kiss Me in the Dark had great throw blankets and bedding! I liked one of the blankets so much, that I jumped online and ordered two that would arrive on my doorstep the moment I got back home. Haha.

This cabin has a bedroom, bathroom that is to die for(the bathtub was amazing!!) and a very wide open living space that has a dining room table, bar stools at the kitchen island, and a nice living room area with the tv and comfy couch. The owner left a little package of candy for us too!

The hot tub was my favorite I’ve experienced so far in broken bow. It is hidden enough against a small hillside, and then has the patio laid out just so you’re not right in someone else’s back yard. The best part of the patio/hot tub area… it’s not too big and still had room for a sitting area with a big smart TV mounted above that we were able to catch up on our shows if we wanted(which we did!).

The road to get to Kiss Me in the Dark is pretty long and not paved, but that was okay with us. The area has enough cabins spaced out pretty decently on the drive in, and so you don’t feel like you’re out in the middle of nowhere by yourself, but you’re also not too crowded with tons of cabins.

Find the cabin on the right weekend and you’ll get a good rate… It is on the nicer end of cabins, so don’t be surprised if the rate is high at peak times. But it’s worth it!!! Splurge a little and enjoy a quiet getaway at a beautiful place! You won’t regret it!

Well, we have been to Broken Bow three times, and every time we’ve come, the The Blue Rooster has been closed, except for this time! We got seated pretty quick, the inside was cute and the menu looked decent… we’d decided on having the catfish family meal, but sadly, no one ever came to our table to take our order. We sat for almost 20 minutes and no one ever came to us. We ended up leaving and we’re pretty disappointed that we didn’t get to try it yet again. Hoping the next time we come to town, they’ll be better staffed and prepared for us to eat that catfish and fried squash…I’ll keep the faith and won’t give up yet! 😁❤️

Looking for groceries in hochatown near your cabin but don’t want to drive into broken bow? The Market at Local 259 has what you need! Groceries, fresh food and desserts, coffee too! Step next door to a kids clothing and toy store at The Hive, and then get yourselves a sweet treat at Hey Sugar! A great little corn-hole set on the turf outside with a grilled cheese food truck on-site too!

Definitely a gem that we just discovered today!!
