These spray roofs are recovery systems, they're not a real roof. You can see they don't even remove the old roofing! So if your old roofing isn't glued well, and they aren't, what's the spray bonding to?....poorly glued roofing!
They don't inspect the underside of the roof deck, they don't re-tape your AC ducts or protect wires.
Polyurea and moisture are not friends. Any moisture will cause it to fail. So if you go over plywood or OSB you would need to use a special moisture guard primer. But these spray roofs are cutting corners by spraying over your roof deck. That's because they save money in that primer. There is no such thing as a lifetime. One company brags about actually making their own polyurea formula. Well if they do why are they not selling it to commercial applicators to our on a commercial building? That would be a great market. They don't because they know it won't last a
Lifetime. They also don't have a collateral warranty? If it's a super duper product, why not put your money where your mouth is like we do?
These spray roofs were originally designed for real roofs, like we install,to recovery them when they reach they're life expectancy, real roofs with curbs.
We posted another clip from an RV group showing the antenna head broken off. He had a spray roof, and now he has to tear into the product to replace the antenna and then go back to them for a re-coat in order to maintain warranty. Anyone can follow behind us to replace a vent, AC, skylight or antenna without coming to us.

Look at how we protect your skylight box and add a ventilation system. You won't get this from any other shop.

Hmmm...I wonder why this commercial building owner didn't go with the "Lifetime" coating they use on RVs?? Maybe because lifetime doesn't exist and it's a marketing ploy to tickle your ears. Don't be so naive, RVers. There is no such thing as a lifetime roof if there was every building would have it applied. Coating are a 20 year product with conditions. Wise up folks you're being duped.

Here is yet another coach with failed gaskets that these spray and roll on roof companies claim doesn't happen. This damage is not covered under their warranty.
Learn before you spend. Why is it all these failed roofs only end up at our shop and you don't see any of these spray and roll on roof companies doing any rebuilds?? One company brags about doing 4000 roofs a year and yet they have no rebuilds? How is that. Only all the bad roofs around the country and up at our shop??

We have shown in a few videos on how butyl is not a good choice to rely on to seal anything. If the butyl worked then we wouldn't be seeing the leaks and rot like we do.
Butyl had a "rest", when it stops oozing that's its "rest".
As you can see in these pictures the manufacturer applies butyl and then applied caulk. The butyl hadn't found it's rest yet and pushes the caulk away before the caulk could cure. So now the UV light is drying out the exposed butyl and nthe caulk is essentially useless.
The best way to seal your vents, skylight etc is to load the back with a quality commercial grade caulk, set in place and snug down, down squash it out. Push back any caulk that may have oozed out. Let the caulk cure and when it does go around with another lap. And that's when you put your screws in.
On this example we would've loaded the back of the jack, set in place, snug the bolts to hold it but not so much it swashes out the caulk, once cured we go back and torque th bolts.
Basically what you doing is making a gasket with the caulk. Commercial grade polymers are nothing like RV products. Always choose commercial grade products.
