What a morning. 🥞✈️

Thank you to everyone who flew in, drove in, and showed up for the May 30th Pancake Breakfast Fly-In at Platte Valley Airpark. The ramp was full, the pancakes were hot, and the company was even better.

A special thank you to the Colorado Civil Air Patrol for joining us — your presence made the day even more special. 🫡

From classic Cubs and taildraggers to a Howard DGA that turned every head on the field — this is exactly why we love this place. It's not just an airport. It's a community.

Colorado said "not today."

KGXY right now: 300 ft ceilings, freezing temps, light precip — the Front Range went from decent to IFR in a matter of hours. Classic May.

Days like this are exactly why personal minimums exist. Clouds can create instant IMC, and spatial disorientation does not give you a warning. Staying well clear of cloud edges, watching those ceiling trends early, and knowing when to leave the plane on the ramp — those decisions are what keep general aviation safe and enjoyable for everyone.
