No matter how many cruises I go on, embarkation day never gets old.

That first glimpse of the ships as you arrive at the port always gives me the same feeling.

Because in a few minutes, one of them is about to become home.

Soon you’ll be walking on board, exploring every deck, finding your cabin, meeting your stateroom steward, and getting your first look at everything you’ve been looking forward to for months.

Then there’s that lovely first-day atmosphere.

Everyone is excited.

People have travelled from all over the world.

Conversations start over lunch, at sail away, by the pool or in a lift, and before long you’re swapping stories and talking about where you’re all from.

It’s the beginning of new destinations, new experiences and, quite often, friendships that last long after the cruise has ended.

I don’t think that feeling of excitement ever disappears…

Please tell me I’m not the only one who still gets excited the moment the cruise ships come into view. 🚢✨
