May 2026

In our first year alone, St. Clair Superyachts has completed multiple yacht sales, with vessels now positioned across three continents outside the United States...

all while operating from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.

What matters most to me, however, is the trust placed in me by yacht owners throughout these transactions.

This recent client experience meant a great deal:

“Kevin demonstrated exceptional timeliness, attention to detail, and professionalism throughout the entire purchase process.

As a very hands-on buyer, I appreciated the transparency, communication, and level of care shown at every stage.

He consistently went above and beyond, particularly during the transition process with my crew, helping ensure everything was handled properly from day one.

Kevin also identified issues and considerations I had not initially accounted for, which ultimately protected my interests and added significant value to the transaction.

His ability to manage contracts, financing, closing, and logistics while respecting my schedule made the experience smooth and stress-free.

My next yacht purchase will absolutely include Kevin as part of the process.”

Part 3: Follow The Invoice Journey
Your yacht management fee is only the beginning.

Because even when the monthly number appears reasonable…

larger hidden costs may live in the vendor layers behind each invoice.

This is where many owners stop looking.

You make a request for service…

a vendor gets called…

another specialist may be subcontracted..

a project manager touches it…

a coordinator routes it…

a technical manager reviews it…

then the invoice reaches your desk.

By then…

how many layers have touched the same dollar?

That’s the question.

Because every handoff in your invoice journey may introduce:

- Convenience premiums
- Preferred vendor spreads
- Subcontractor layers
- Project management markups
- Parts sourcing fees
- Rush service charges
- Duplicate reporting
- Duplicated technical oversight

None of this is necessarily wrong.

But when these layers become hidden…

you can’t see what you’re paying for.

Especially over 12 months of recurring maintenance, logistics, and shipyard work.

One simple owner question may bring immediate clarity:

How many hands touched this invoice before it reached me?

That question alone may reveal where meaningful savings begin.

The fee is visible.

The invoice path may not be.

And that’s often where the deeper cost-control conversation starts.

Most yacht owners know their fuel burn.

They know dockage.

They know crew.

But one of the largest recurring expenses often gets the least scrutiny:

Management fees.

Not because management itself is the problem.

But because multiple services may be quietly bundled inside one monthly number.

Over time, that single line item may begin to include:

• crew administration
• technical vendor coordination
• shipyard project oversight
• logistics handling
• outsourced specialists
• layered pass-through costs

The issue is rarely the yacht.

It’s often the structure around it.

And when multiple services stay bundled too long…

clarity may slowly disappear.

That’s where unnecessary spending often starts.

The fastest way to uncover it?

Separate each major function first.

Technical.
Crew.
Logistics.
Provisioning.
Project work.

Then review each independently.

That’s often where meaningful cost control begins.

After nearly 30 years in the yachting industry, one pattern continues to repeat:

The most expensive costs are often the ones wrapped in convenience.

Follow for more yacht ownership intelligence.

You may be overpaying for your yacht…

and not even see where it’s happening.

Most of it doesn’t show up as one big mistake.

It hides inside structure.

Part 1

Diversify your yacht’s operating expenses.

Most owners diversify their investments.

But their yacht?

Everything often gets bundled into one system:

- Management
- Crew hiring
- Logistics
- Shipyard coordination

and more.

It looks clean.

One number.

One system.

Easy.

But that’s where costs may start to hide.

Services bundled that don’t need to be…

and functions outsourced inside the same structure.

When it’s time to reduce costs fast…

this is often the first place to look.

Not by tearing everything apart.

By separating it.

Review each piece independently.

That’s where clarity starts.

And where real cost control may begin.

You can’t fix what you can’t see.

30 years in this industry…

you start to recognize the patterns.

More tomorrow.

Some yacht owners are about to discover something uncomfortable:

Convenience on a yacht can quietly become the most expensive line item onboard.

When operating costs run on autopilot, it’s easy for unnecessary expenses to build month after month without anyone stopping to question them.

Over the past three decades working aboard and around superyachts, I’ve seen situations where routine services were performed far more often than necessary, overlapping management layers created extra cost, and owners paid for things the vessel simply didn’t require.

That’s one reason I put together a short report called “Yacht Owner Intelligence.”

Seven pages.
Thirty years of experience.
What every yacht owner should know.

„You will always be my broker.“
