Ngerchong Inside Reef, Palau

The giant Potato Coral is the centerpiece of the reef, massive, ancient-looking, and impossible to forget. In a place already surrounded by some of the most beautiful hard coral scenery anywhere, this coral still steals the show. It does not look like just another coral head. It feels like a living monument underwater.

We have dived in countless places around the world, and this is one of the most beautiful coral reefs I have ever seen. The color, the density, and the sheer health of the reef are hard to put into words. Even after all these years underwater, places like this still stop me in my tracks.

Palau’s 🇵🇼 boat rides are part of the experience, not just the way to get to the dive site. Winding through the Rock Islands, with jungle-covered limestone rising out of water in every shade of blue and green, feels surreal every single time. Even before you hit the water, Palau already feels like an adventure.
