SR 73 runs through the middle of Whiteriver and people are crossing it every single day. Children walking to school. Elders running errands. Families going about their day.

They are counting on drivers to do the right thing.

When someone is waiting at that crosswalk, stop. Not slow down. Not inch forward. Stop, and wait until they have fully crossed.

This is our community. Let's protect it together.

Please share this post, the more people who see it, the safer our roads become.

A Red Flag Warning remains in effect until 8 PM tonight. We ask all community members, drivers, and road crews to refrain from any activities that may cause a spark or ignite a wildfire. Your cooperation is critical in keeping the White Mountain Apache Reservation safe during these dangerous fire weather conditions.

A Red Flag warning remains in effect today, Friday, May 29, 2026 until 8 PM. Please continue to avoid any activities that could ignite a wildfire, as even a small spark combined with these winds can quickly become a serious incident. We understand that the persistent wind is frustrating - We’re tired of discussing it, too. However, until the weather changes, let’s all do our part to keep the White Mountain Apache Reservation fire - safe.

Windy conditions are here and temperatures are only going to rise.

Some of the most common wildfires are started by vehicles. Before you hit the road, take 5 minutes to check your vehicle. It could save a life, a home, or thousands of acres of land.

See the flyer below for what to check and what to do. Share it with someone who needs to see it. 🙏
