GoAERO has announced their Stage 2 winners, https://www.goaeroprize.com/post/goaero-stage-2-prototype-winners-2025 Unfortunately, Trek Aerospace is not one of them. We were a Stage 1 winner, but alas, we did not make the cut in Stage 2. Rather than continue with the development of our GoAERO entry, Nytngale, we are going to pursue other projects. We congratulate the Stage 2 winners and wish them the best of luck.

We're going to be competing in Boeing's new challenge, the Go AERO prize. The goal is to create a small, vertical takeoff and landing emergency recovery vehicle. You can check them out at https://goaeroprize.com

They've been putting together some videos, using old footage from GoFly. See how many times you can find us in this one: https://youtu.be/W0yI_aWMkcY

GoAERO offers $2+ million in prizes to design and build Emergency Response Flyers for disaster response.

Well, it's been another year with many twists and turns, but we've finally moved the newest version of our FlyKart out of the shop and into its hangar. Flight testing is scheduled to start later this week.

After a 12 month lead time, our motors finally arrived! Ducts are mounted. Motors are installed. Props are temporarily in place (they need doublers under them for proper spacing). Progress is finally being made again. Hopefully, early next month, we'll move the airframe from our shop to our hangar. Still looking forward to completing the GoFly challenge.

As promissed last month, here's an update photo of FlyKart3. Lead times are still killing us. Awaiting landing gear tubes, ducts, motors, and propellers. Just all the most critical parts.🙂

As most of you know by now, the GoFly Flyoff in 2020 was a bust. Of the 30+ competitors there, only a couple got into the air and no one came close to meeting GoFly's requirements. Combination of high winds and lack of preparedness. Right after that, COVID set in and all bets were off. The competition, however, goes on.

After seeing the other competitors and reviewing our design, we decided to revise FlyKart 2 into FlyKart 3. Unfortunately, with COVID raging, lead times for parts have grown phenomenally. We finally got parts this week and have started building the FK3 airframe. Check back, we'll post some pictures when it starts to look like something.

The good news: we're at the GoFly Final FlyOff at Moffett Field in CA. The bad news: we're not flying. We had a significant setback in December when some of our ESCs burst into flames. We ordered new material (6 week lead time) and built a new airframe (3 weeks), but that left no time to test the rebuilt vehicle before the FlyOff. So, we're here only as a static display. We wish the best to our fellow competitors.

We're busy getting ready for AirVenture2019. If you're at Oshkosh this year, drop by the Innovation Center and visit our booth (the tent's air conditioned). See you there.
