All truck enthusiasts are welcome. Come learn about trucks, the trucking industry and the pioneers whom created this industry. The ATHS Lonestar Chapter is interested in putting together a convoy with as many trucks as possible. We could head up 1-35 North from Burleson, TX to (I anticipate up to or in Oklahoma, to a location of choice, all of which is open for discussion). We are also looking for
ideas and other routes that might be more suitable for everyone involved. I’ve only mentioned the original route up I-35 as a suggestion so please provide your ideas, we are accepting any and all. Please contact myself, Scott Spear, your chapter President, or either Edd Bothe VP, or John Gillem, Secretary know what you can or are willing to do, or if you just want to help with suggestions and ideas to help establish this convoy, we would greatly appreciate any and all help we can get. One point I want to make is that nobody has to do any physical work, we are just looking for ideas and suggestions to get this all accomplished. This is a truck FUN RUN from one place to another (start, turn around and finish to be determined after we receive input from anyone wanting to help out). We can put this together with no more effort than an email or phone call, we’re just looking for ideas at this point. We are asking for suggestions, ideas and anything else anyone wants to bring to the table. No permits or special paperwork will be required. This is nothing more than a truck club convoying up the interstate just like any car club. Please note that no single truck in the convoy can be involved with interstate commerce during the run itself. Putting your working truck into the convoy is absolute legal and no special plates will be required either. One of the goals is to include as many of the ATHS chapters as possible. If this works maybe we can do this annually with the other chapters. I will be contacting Jon Karnes, chapter President of the The Yellow Rose chapter in Gonzales TX to have their chapter join us as well. If any of the Oklahoma chapters want to join in, or any other chapter then please contact me. The more trucks we have rolling the better it will be, certainly more fun. The pint us to set a starting point and a turn around place. I would also to put this to a vote during our next chapter meeting in April at the Valley Mills show in support of the local FFA for the school kids. Anyone interested please contact me either by email at [email protected], call or text me at (214) 794-8473, or Edd Bother at 214 477-7011 including [email protected], or John Gillem at 817 908-9216 or via his email at [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from everyone interested in helping out with this as soon as possible. Respectfully,
Scott Spear
Lonestar Chapter President
