Just so that we can explain why we love Italy so much. Right now the exchange rate has the dollar slightly more valuable than the Euro. So dinner tonight was at a tiny restaurant in the hills of Tuscany that none of us had been to before. They squeezed us in with no reservations. House red wine, which was wonderful, was €5 a liter, wonderful bruschetta as an appetizer, incredible shrimp pasta for primi, then wonderful assorted dishes for secondi. Winette’s in the photo was huge prawns, and mine was veal scallopini in a white wine and lemon sauce (it cost €8) - that’s right, less than $8. Then on to dessert- pistachio mousse, and limoncello/fernet Branca as an aperitif. Total bill - €107. We may never come back. I forgot the other photos - so they will follow.
