To our SDX Family and Friends,
The time has come to share an important announcement and some changes regarding the future of SDX Trucking.
As many of you know, SDX was founded by our late father Mike Maguire at 21 years old in 1978. Our dad started with just one truck and a vision to be a regional leader in the trucking industry. Our dad and our late mother Rita spent their entire adult lives building this company from those meager beginnings while raising 6 kids at the same time. Proudly, many of our customers and employees are with us to this day and remember those early days of SDX. We know in our hearts that our Mom and Dad are proud of us for continuing their legacy of exceptional service and genuine care for our company family.
We grew up riding in trucks and playing in the shop on 39th Street in the early days and later on Lilac when the company expanded for the first time. In the years since then we have continued to grow the company and our own young families. Now, our kids are running around the shop on Cassens like we were with our parents and some of you so many years ago.
We are so very proud of the hard work our parents demonstrated running SDX and grateful for the strong work ethic they instilled in us and the opportunities they gave us. Truthfully though, the company’s success came at the sacrifice of a lot of family time growing up over the years. Having had to say goodbye to our Mom and Dad before they got to meet some of our own children was very difficult and we reflect upon that loss of time with them today as we raise our own children.
Therefore, after a lot of thought and prayer, we have made the heartfelt decision to sell SDX to a new ownership group. This decision has not been made lightly, but rather with a deep sense of responsibility to prioritize our family's well-being and spend more quality time together. This was not an easy decision, but we believe it is the right step forward for not just our own families, but importantly for the company and its employee's future.
Words can do not justice to express our immense gratitude to each and every one of you for your dedication, hard work, and unwavering friendship throughout our journey together. Your contributions have been invaluable, and it is because of you that SDX has thrived. This new chapter holds a tremendous amount of opportunity for growth and success. Whether you've been part of our team, a loyal customer, or a supportive partner, your presence has enriched our lives more than you may know.
To our valued employees: You are the heart and soul of this company. While this news may bring uncertainty, please know that we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for each and every one of you. Your talent and contributions have left a permanent mark on SDX and you will be very much needed to take the company into the future.
To our loyal customers: Your loyalty and trust have been the cornerstone of our business. We can never thank you enough for the relationships we've built over the years and the privilege of serving you. While our ownership may change, our commitment to providing exceptional service and quality remains unwavering. We are confident that the new owners will continue to uphold the values and standards that defined SDX and we look forward to sharing much more information as it becomes available.
For Everyone: In order to make sure this all transitions smoothly and that SDX is held to the same high standards that our Mom and Dad set; Tina and Emily will remain on full time to assist in the transition. Andy and Kate will be stepping back into an advisory role assisting the rest of the team who will bring SDX into the future with you all.
As we bid farewell to one chapter, let us embrace the possibilities of the next chapter with open hearts and a sense of adventure. We are beyond confident that Tina, Emily and the new owners will carry forward the legacy that Mike and Rita Maguire worked so hard to create.
