A specialized load can carry a lot more than its weight.

What looks like one load on the highway can mean much more at its destination. It could be equipment needed to keep an operation moving, critical freight headed where it’s needed, or specialized cargo with an important job waiting for it at the other end - or all of that at once.

One carefully planned load can bring a lot together in a single trip.

So when you see one massive load rolling down the highway, don’t just look at what’s on the trailer. Think about everything that load can make possible once it gets there.

That’s the real size of the load.

Specialized freight can ask more from a driver. Dash Point’s compensation package recognizes that.

Depending on the assignment and applicable requirements, additional pay opportunities include:

🔴 $50 per HazMat load
🔴 $50 per U.S./Canada border crossing
🔐 $200/day for qualifying SECRET team loads, in addition to base pay
🟥 $150 for tarping
⏱️ $35/hour qualifying detention pay after the first two free hours
🌙 $300/night qualifying layover pay after more than 10 total hours of detention

The tractor can already be pointed down the next road while the back of an oversized combination is still working its way through the turn.

That difference matters.

Longer combinations can require more room because the trailer tracks inside the tractor’s path. Add an oversized load, multiple axles, traffic, curbs, signs, and other obstacles, and a routine turn becomes something that deserves your full attention.

Know your equipment. Watch your trailer. Use the room you need. And never let impatient traffic decide how quickly you make the turn.
