Looking for a memorable, hands-on, family-friendly day trip? We checked out the new Mr. Drew Exotic Animal Education Center in Poland, Maine, and it was an absolute blast! 🐢

There were dozens of tortoises to interact with, a hidden cave to dig for gems and shells, and plenty of animal knowledge to support the mission of this rescue and rehabilitation center. 💎🐚

Mr. Drew does a lot of traveling shows, but he happened to be there on the day we visited. It was great to speak with him and find out more about all the great things they are doing for the local community.

As summer approaches, we wanted to add a list of Maine zoos and aquariums to our website. Stay close this year and explore various local animal education opportunities! 🪼

We recently visited Mr. Drew’s Animal Education Center in Poland. There, you can feed some of the animals, and they might crawl on your feet! 🐢

Our latest resource is a list of Maine restaurants with Kids Eat Free deals. It includes a mix of bigger national chains and local favorites. 🍝

Dining out does seem to keep getting more expensive, so any little bit of savings can help when you are traveling or just looking for a place to go out with children. 💰

A directory of all current escape rooms in Maine is now up on our website. This probably should have been one of the first categories I added!

It’s been almost 5 years now since we ran the final group through our escape room, Farmington Underground - so here is a throwback photo of the first commercial I recorded when announcing our opening. 🎩

Our most recent trip was to Maine’s largest year-round arcade, Round1 in South Portland—and wow, it is massive! We tried our hand at rows and rows of claw machines, won a few tickets, and got a good deal on ice cream for 99 cents.

This is one of the highest-priced arcades we’ve visited, so we have a full pricing breakdown along with this review. I would definitely recommend having a budgeting strategy in mind before going.

We also found some unique rhythm and music games, options for racing and virtual reality, and a very large prize room filled from floor to ceiling.

We have just added a huge list and map of public ice skating locations in Maine to our website. It should be a good resource for anyone looking for where they can go to have some fun and keep active this winter.

Here’s our most in-depth visit to an arcade yet! We recently took a trip to Orono Arcade LLC and played multiple games throughout the 2 floors of options.

Whenever you get the opportunity for a 4-person Mario Kart game 🛞, you must take advantage of it: we definitely did! We also played several pinball machines, Step Maniax, and some prize machines—I even had a prize literally bounce right out of the winning zone.

Featuring a unique blacklight mini-golf course ⛳, this arcade also has a nice selection of retro games where you can still compete for high scores.

It’s starting to get pretty cold outside, but have you checked out this Maine museum dedicated to a place that’s even colder? ❄️We recently visited the Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum, which is focused on the people, animals, and culture of the Arctic and is located on the Bowdoin College campus in Brunswick.

We saw a polar bear, touched a real narwhal horn, and learned about fabric designs used in the region. This was a great stop to see something different, and there were plenty of curated activities to keep children interested, too! 🐻‍❄️

Our latest arcade trip was to Smitty’s GameLAB in Topsham. Located on the Topsham Fair Mall Road right off the highway, Smitty’s GameLAB is near plenty of other stores and eateries so you can make an entire day out of your trip!

We had a great time at this arcade—eating fried foods for lunch, playing a variety of games, and browsing the prize selection. The wall of prizes is massive and has a huge range of items to win.

We played through a bunch of modern games like Hot Wheels racing and Crossy Road, and even tried our hand at a few crane games (with one win!).
