As you are all aware, we are supposed to get hit pretty hard by this snowstorm coming in. Please prepare for this! I have a few tips I would like to share with you so you can be ready for this!
Emergency Supplies: Keep a battery-powered radio, flashlights, extra batteries, a first-aid kit, and a 7-day supply of food and water on hand.
Home Safety: Insulate walls/attics, seal drafts with caulk/weather stripping, and ensure you have safe, well-ventilated alternative heating (like a fireplace or wood stove).
Prevent Frozen Pipes: Keep your home heated (above 55°F), open cabinet doors to let warm air circulate around pipes, and allow cold water to drip from faucets.
Vehicle Readiness: Maintain at least a half-tank of gas, check antifreeze levels, and keep an ice scraper, sand/cat litter for traction, and blankets in your car.
Safety Measures: Bring pets indoors, dress in warm layers (hats and mittens are best), and avoid using generators, grills, or camp stoves indoors.
Before the Storm: Charge all electronic devices, fill prescriptions, and withdraw cash in case power outages affect card readers.
Stay safe!!
