Have an idea that could make a Fargo park even better? Let’s make it happen together. 💡🌲

The Fargo Park District Foundation Matching Grant Program is back for 2026, and we’re looking for community-driven ideas that can enhance our parks, facilities and recreational opportunities.

Maybe you see an opportunity for a park improvement, new recreation equipment or an amenity that could better serve your neighborhood or the Fargo community. Your idea could be the start of our next partnership.

Through the Matching Grant Program, individuals, associations, organizations and clubs can bring forward project ideas and apply for financial support from the Fargo Park District Foundation. Approved projects may receive a dollar-for-dollar match of up to 50% of the project cost, with a maximum grant award of $20,000.

The tallies are in! 📚🌳

Back in late July, we asked the community to help us choose 10 Fargo parks that will receive new Little Free Libraries. After many community members weighed in through our park selection survey, the votes are officially counted!

Now, local Girl Scout Troop 33022 is busy building the 10 libraries, which are expected to be installed in Fall of 2026. Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate and help bring more opportunities for reading and sharing books to our parks! ❤️

UPDATE: Mushroom Max, Whiskerpuff, and Humphrey have all been spotted and made tons of new friends. Thanks for a great Nature Monster summer!

It's the last Nature Monster Wednesday of the summer, but don't feel too sad! ☀ All of our monsters have been welcomed into new loving families and have given you all a chance to explore all the parks Fargo has to offer.

🌳Last but not least, we have Mushroom Max, Whiskerpuff, and Humphrey. These fellas are hanging out around Island Park all snug in their eggs hoping someone will find them!

Island Park (302 7th Street S Fargo ND 58103) is Fargo's oldest park located in the beautiful downtown area. Marked with the classic Gazebo, this park includes a basketball court, tennis courts, handball, grills, a playground, cross country ski trails, and is home to Island Park Pool! It is a popular place to host Fargo Park Districts events made for the entire community such as Midwest Kid Fest and the Island Park Show.

Today's mission is to find these three Nature Monsters, who are safe and nestled in their eggs, and provide them with a loving home. It's a first-come, first-serve basis, so make sure to be quick on your feet! Once you discover a Nature Monster, please be sure to comment on this Facebook post to let everyone know it's been found for the week. 🚲🛴 Riding an e-bike or e-scooter in Fargo? Know before you go!

As you enjoy Fargo’s parks and trails the remainder of the season, keep this graphic in mind to help you know where different types of e-bikes and e-scooters are allowed. Rules can vary depending on the type of device and where you’re riding.

Take a moment to check the guidelines before hitting the trails, and always ride safely, be respectful of other park users, and follow posted signs. 🌳

UPDATE: Benny Bigfoot, Porklops, and Blorp are all settled at with their new forever homes! Be sure to check in next Wednesday to meet the new Nature Monsters.

Three new loveable Nature Monsters await some explorers brave enough to come find them! 🌱🍃 This week we have Benny Bigfoot, Porklops, and Blorp who are playing around Trollwood Park up in North Fargo! 🌳

Nestled in along the Red River, Trollwood Park (3664 Elm Street N, Fargo, ND 58102) is a sprawling 28-acre haven, with something for everyone. Check out its diverse playgrounds tailored for varying age groups, basketball courts, a 18-hole disc golf course, and an array of inviting gathering spaces.

We need our nature-loving community to go out and find the monsters, that are safe and nestled in their eggs, so they can finally have a home! The monster rescue mission is first come, first serve and remember, when you find a Nature Monster, please comment on this Facebook post to let everyone know it's been found for the week. To give everyone a chance, please limit your monsters to one per family.

Let your imagination run wild and track down Benny Bigfoot, Porklops, and Blorp to give them their forever home! 💚
