Spent some time running and looking at all of the boats and they are very impressive! The ride and build quality are amazing. NOAA Fisheries withdrew their proposed mandatory 10-knot speed restrictions for vessels 35–65 feet long, citing challenges in implementing the new regulations. However, the agency reaffirmed their commitment to working with stakeholders to protect North Atlantic right whales.

The proposed rule was intended to address critical threats to the species, including the misalignment of current speed zones with areas of high vessel-strike risk and the absence of mandatory speed restrictions for smaller vessels.

Despite withdrawing the proposal, NOAA Fisheries emphasized their continued focus on using existing measures, fostering partnerships, and leveraging innovations to mitigate vessel strikes and support the recovery of this critically endangered species.
