Pleased to report two of my pieces have been accepted for the juried exhibit at the Del Ray Artisans Gallery. The theme of the exhibit is “Toy Story” featuring toys artist used in creating their type of art.
My piece on the left is titled “Gun Fight at Tranquility Base,” featuring metal figures of Flash Gordon and one of his enemies, a metal pin ball game, a rocket ship bank and alphabet blocks. Set in a wood wine box with pages from vintage space science fiction book on inside panels.
On the right is “Light-Propelled Space Ship,” featuring a plastic HST toy, plastic astronaut and alien figures, plastic rockets, and glow-in-the dark stars. The box was my Father’s fish tackle box in which he kept lures and hooks.
The show runs from January 2nd to 30th. Opening reception on January 2nd from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
The gallery is at 2704 Mt. Vernon Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22301. The main street of Del Ray.
