As a reminder, we do not have a Airport Authority meeting for the Month of March, next one will be first Tuesday in April. With that being said, I have sent a memo to the members of the Airport Authority Members and I will share it on here on how we will conduct these Airport Authority meetings:

RE: Conduct for Fairmont Marion County Regional Airport Authority Meetings

Rules on how I will conduct the Airport Authority Meetings. I am putting in writing the rules I as the President of the Airport Authority to keep our meetings respectful, organized, and efficient along with preventing chaos with no order in the meetings.
As for members of the Fairmont Marion Cunty Regional Airport Authority we are here to provide a service, which include treating the users, public, and other board members with respect and to listen to the concerns brought before the Airport Authority.
As for the meetings within its members, I will be using Roberts Rules unless someone can point out within our charter that there are other rules to be used to run the meeting.
I believe public input is crucial for gathering information for the Authority to use in help guide in making decisions. We cannot fix a problem if we do not know it exists. What the Airport Authority and the public need to realize, though a issue or problem may be brought up at the meeting, these comment periods are to voice a concern, bring up a problem for the Board to consider. For the users and general public, this is a one-way dialogue for you to voice your concerns. Authority members may use new or old business period to explain or inform decisions they have made if they choose to do so. This public comment period is not a debate. In the past I have allowed any and all public comments during the visitors period of our meetings and would like to continue to do so, provided these comments are used to address specific agenda item, general topic issue, or concern and are done so respectfully. When you make your comment please state your name and if you are a user, customer, or other nature of business with the airport and you will get three minutes to bring up concerns or problems you would like the Board to address or consider.
Personal attacks will not be tolerated by the general public, users of the airport, or Airport Authority members. If you have a personal issue with an Airport Authority Member, I suggest you bring that to who is responsible to the appointment of that seat (City or County seat).
If you cannot make a meeting you may submit input via email [email protected] For the email to make the agenda, I would like to see the email a 7 days prior to meeting so it could be added to an agenda item under new business or old business. The email will be disseminated to all present members and referenced in meeting minutes but not required to be read aloud verbatim.
During the new business or old business a motion can be brought by a Airport Authority member where Roberts Rules will be used to discuss and debate with the Airport Authority members. The Airport Authority will work with the public on issues that arise and will listen to solutions, but will not be engaging with debate during with the public during these meetings.

While at the airport authority meeting this evening someone was operating a drone around and on the airport. While there is no regulation against this, the FAA does spell out that the drone operator must be aware of and avoid traffic patterns and take off and landing areas. To those operating drones, please keep this in mind, as if we act carelessly or cause more complaints, it could lead to more regulations in the future.
