While Eugene Airport is currently operating normally during the current partial Federal Government shutdown, TSA staff are working without pay. After multiple shutdowns in a row, it is increasingly difficult for our hardworking TSA friends to pay for basic expenses. If you would like to help, there are donation collection bins in the terminal lobby and at the airport admin building, which is open Mon-Fri 8am-5pm. Due to TSA regulations, gift cards for food or gas should not be in increments larger than $10. Thank you in advance for your generosity and for helping our fantastic TSA family here at EUG.

Exciting news! Starting April 30th, 2026. United Airlines will begin new daily nonstop service between O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Eugene Airport (EUG). United Airlines plans to utilize a Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft for this route. Now an even easier way travel east and to get to all the Big10 events!

U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem recently released a video related to the government shutdown and instructed Transportation Security Administration (TSA) managers across the country to display the video at TSA airport security checkpoints. TSA security checkpoint videos usually feature government officials welcoming travelers and an explanation of screening procedures. Given the political nature of Secretary Noem’s video we understand that some travelers may have questions and concerns.

At the Eugene Airport, TSA independently operates the security checkpoint with its own equipment. This includes the video monitor at the checkpoint. The content shown on this monitor is under the control of the TSA – not the City of Eugene. At other airports, the monitors upon which TSA displays video messages may be under the ownership and control of the airport.
