A beautiful hot sunny day in Santa Fe.
More than 5000 showed took over Roundhouse park and marched to the Plaza.

Body Sovereignty is Food Sovereignty!

New art alert New Mexico! FTA legislative fellows Anna Rondon and Krystal Curley have been speaking out about body sovereignty and why they support the Respect NM Women and Families Act (HB 7 and SB 10). This art piece is part of their message to NM legislators.

"Española, with a population of roughly 10,000, has a significantly higher rate and Moscola estimates that there are an estimated 100 people homeless on any given night in the city. In other words, the rate of homelessness in Española is more than three times that of Albuquerque and more than six times the average rate of the state."

As Española's first shelter opens, they report homelessness at a rate among the highest in the nation, and more than 3x that of Albuquerque.

Food Not Bombs (FNB) is a National organization with the purpose of encouraging community discussion and action towards collective liberation through cooking and serving FREE healthy food to All without restriction and preconditions.

FNB Española recognizes systemic violence, including; white supremacy, colonization, capitalism, and hetero-patriarchy as root causes to food scarcity, homelessness, incarceration, and poverty.

FNB Española acknowledges our Unsheltered Relatives are people on the frontlines of the current COVID-19 pandemic, Op**te epidemic, Climate Change, and economic disparity communities face.

From this perspective FNB Española prioritizes access to FREE hot meals that are safely packaged within recommended guidelines for COVID-19 to be distribute to anyone in our community and for our Unsheltered Relatives. FnB Española promotes Indigenous Food Sovereignty, self empowerment with healthy eating, nutritional education, and land/food conection.

We do this as a grassroots collective, as a chapter of National Food Not Bombs, and with the help of other partnered organizations.

We welcome good hearted souls that want to volunteer and work with us. As a nonprofit, we gratefully accept donations of food, food, cooking equipment, recycled packaging material, paper bags, etc., and Personal protection equipment.
