š Behind the Scenes of a Travel Advisor šµšāļø
Being a travel advisor is so much more than booking flights and hotels. A big part of my job happens behind the scenes ā learning, exploring, building relationships, and making sure I can recommend experiences I truly believe in.
Iām incredibly honored to be one of just eight travel advisors to be selected to represent the USA at PHITEX 2026 in Manila, Philippines! šµš
This is where the real work begins.
Over the course of the conference and destination experience, weāre meeting with tourism leaders, local experts, and the incredible professionals who actually create the tours, design the programs, operate the experiences, and showcase the destinations that our travelers will one day enjoy.
Weāre asking questions. Weāre learning new products. Weāre discovering destinations beyond the obvious. Weāre touring properties, experiencing activities, building relationships with local partners, and gaining firsthand knowledge that you simply canāt get from a brochure or website.
And yes ā itās hard work! š
But itās also one of the most rewarding parts of being a travel professional.
Every conversation and every experience adds to my knowledge so that when my travelers tell me what theyāre looking for, I can go beyond simply saying, āHereās a place you can visit.ā
I can say, āIāve been there. Iāve met the people who make this experience happen. I know what makes it special ā and I know how to help make it an incredible trip for you.ā
The Philippines is an incredible destination, and Iām excited to be exploring it alongside fellow travel professionals and the people who know it best.
This is why investing in a professional travel advisor matters.
We donāt just sell travel. We continually learn travel, experience travel, and build the relationships that help us create better journeys for our clients.
And thereās so much more to discover!
