This year marks a historic milestone as our nation celebrates 250 years of freedom, independence, and the enduring spirit that has united Americans since 1776.

In observance of Independence Day and America's 250th Anniversary, the Palm Island Transit office will be closed on Friday, July 3rd.

Ferry operations will continue on their normal schedule without interruption.

The office will resume normal business hours on Monday, July 6th.

We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend as we celebrate 250 years of American independence and honor the generations of Americans whose sacrifice, service, and dedication have preserved the freedoms we enjoy today.

We would like to recognize three young men who recently demonstrated exceptional honesty and character while traveling aboard our ferry service.
Dylan Campanella, John Mertz, and Logan Rooney found a woman's wallet containing cash and personal belongings. Rather than walking away or keeping any of the contents, they immediately turned it over to the captain so it could be returned to its rightful owner.
Acts like these remind us that integrity, honesty, and doing the right thing are values that still thrive in our community. These young men set a tremendous example for others and deserve recognition for their actions.
On behalf of everyone at Palm Island Transit, thank you, Dylan, John, and Logan. Your honesty did not go unnoticed, and we are proud to recognize you for doing the right thing.

Please be advised that the U.S. Coast Guard will be conducting a scheduled inspection of our vessel operations on Thursday morning starting at 9am.
During this time, normal operations may be temporarily impacted, and delays should be expected while the inspection is underway. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work with the Coast Guard to ensure the continued safety and compliance of our operations.
We will make every effort to minimize disruptions and resume normal service as quickly as possible.

In observance of Memorial Day, the Palm Island Transit Office will be closed on Monday, May 25.

Normal office operations will resume on the following business day. We encourage customers to plan ahead for any office related needs.

As we honor and remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country, we wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

Dear Island Residents,
Please be advised that beginning on Monday, May 18th at 10:00 PM, necessary repair work will commence on the island-side landing to ensure the continued safety and reliability of the facility.
This project will involve the use of generators, heavy equipment, and pile driving operations as crews work to complete critical structural repairs to the landing area. Residents may experience increased noise levels and periodic activity throughout the duration of the work.
We understand this may cause some inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation as these important improvements are completed. Every effort will be made to perform the work as safely and efficiently as possible while minimizing disruptions to residents and island operations.
Times may change based on weather and contractor availability. Additional updates regarding the project schedule or operational impacts will be communicated as they become available.

Please be advised that on Wednesday, May 13th, beginning around 10:00 AM, there will be a high volume of concrete trucks and semi-trucks traveling throughout the area during the day. This will likely result in traffic congestion and possible delays. Please plan accordingly and allow extra travel time.

As of now, NOAA has issued a Gale Warning just north of Tampa, with the advisory continuing to shift southward since yesterday. Winds are expected to increase throughout today and persist through Thursday night, with gusts potentially reaching gale force.

Operational impacts are likely, including delays and possible restrictions for high-profile vehicles due to elevated wind conditions. Additionally, tides are expected to run lower than normal.
