Ironing day.

Not all of our antiques are for decoration. This is a 1947 Ironrite Ironing machine. They were produced in Michigan from 1920 to 1961, gaining massive popularity in the 1940s. It is operated by a lever you press with your knee. There is no heat or speed adjustment, so the technique takes some time to master (I’m still working on it), and it can get super hot.

We iron all of our napkins and pillowcases … most of our pillowcases.

Skip the OTAs … they seem like they are saving you money, but Air B&B and VRBO add fees that we don’t. And they take fees from us.
Don’t get me wrong, I use both of those sites often when looking for places to stay. But as an Innkeeer for a small B&B, I have realized just how much they are taking from both us and our customers.

Our trail development project made significant progress this past week, as we capitalized on the favorable fall weather and dry conditions to complete the digging phase.
While the trails are currently muddy and may pose a risk when icy in the winter or excessively muddy in the spring, we have learned from our experience over the past year that the grass will eventually grow and the ground will dry out somewhat.
We are excited to announce the completion of a full mile of walking trails in our backyard.

We are launching an updated weekday continental breakfast, offered Monday through Friday. As part of this enhancement, our weekday rates will be lowered, and breakfast options will be simplified. Guests will have the opportunity to choose from an array of a la carte items, including yogurt, granola, juice, freshly baked goods (showcasing our signature scones), fresh fruit, juice, and oatmeal.
Our full breakfast service will continue on weekends.
As always, freshly brewed hot coffee will be provided, with the option to utilize our Nespresso machine! s
