Due to the buildup of snow and ice from the ongoing winter storm, we have elected to NOTAM the runway CLOSED to fixed wing aircraft until snow and ice removal can be attempted tomorrow. The runway, apron, and all taxiways are completely covered with snow and ice, making conditions extremely treacherous.

Great News! If you've ever been in the air on a busy day you know how congested radio traffic can be.

EDIT: It has come to our attention that certain third-party apps and resources are already showing the change... This change is not effective until the next FAA chart cycle, which begins on December 26th. Until then, please continue to use 122.8 MHz for communications in the vicinity of EKX.

Pilots should always ensure they are using the current official version of all publications and have checked for applicable NOTAMs before flying.
