We don’t normally post things like this, but this one matters.
Houston — someone many of you know from the river, the shop, or local conservation events — is going through something incredibly difficult right now. He is in his early 20s and has developed an undiagnosed medical condition that has affected the feeling and use of his hands. After doctor visits, specialists, and testing, there are still no clear answers. What is clear, unfortunately, is the growing stack of medical bills.
True to his character, Houston didn’t ask for help. Instead, he began selling his fishing equipment to try to cover expenses.
If you’ve ever met him, you know the kind of person he is. Passionate about fishing. Deeply involved in conservation. Always willing to help others. Never someone looking for attention or sympathy.
We’re asking the community to rally around him during a time that has become overwhelming. Donation jars are available in the shop, a GoFundMe has been set up, and we will soon be auctioning donated flies and gear to help raise funds.
If you’re able to contribute, it would mean more than you know. If not, sharing this post truly helps more than you might think.
Let’s take care of one of our own.
