Free Fishing Day!

Arizona residents and visitors will have a chance to fish without a license this Saturday, June 6, as the Arizona Game and Fish Department participates in National Free Fishing Day. The annual event allows anyone to fish at Arizona state waters and Community Fishing Program lakes without purchasing a fishing license for the day.

The program is designed to introduce new anglers to the sport and encourage families and friends to spend time outdoors together. While no fishing license is required on Free Fishing Day, all bag limits and fishing regulations remain in effect.

Officials remind anglers that the exemption applies only to state and Community Fishing Program waters and does not include private waters or tribal waters. Children under the age of 10 can fish for free in Arizona year-round.

Arizona Game and Fish officials hope the event encourages more people to discover fishing and enjoy the state's outdoor recreation opportunities.

The Coronado National Forest Service is hosting National Get outdoors day on June 13, 2026, from 9am to 2pm at Parker Canyon Lake. If you are interested in attending, please contact the Sierra Vista Ranger District.

National Get Outdoors Day is a free event celebrated on the second Saturday in June each year. It was established to encourage healthy, active outdoor fun. The day aims to inspire people to explore nature, participate in outdoor activities, and enjoy the benefits of being outdoors, promoting a connection with the great outdoors and fostering a healthier lifestyle

This event is aimed at children 10 and under, but everyone is welcome! A kid friendly activity is requested for attending this event. As more people sign up, we will have more information on what is available and what kinds of activities will be are happening. If this is your first year attending this event is free to our visitors, including parking at the lake ( not camping, just day use at the marina). It includes games, water beads, sq**rt guns, bubbles, and more. It’s just a fun day to play outside and help people recreate! If you’d like to be apart of the event please contact them today!
