With the stress, isolation, and losses we all experienced in the last year and a half, we are so grateful we were able to have our annual AFM Family Baseball night and be with the people who have contributed to our success as well as honor the life of Thomas Streicher.
Experiencing such an emotional and chaotic time reminds us of the importance of being aware of all the beauty and love we are surrounded by every day and extend appreciation for all those that accompany us through this wonderful mysterious life. Thomas was someone who walked AND drove through life with so much awareness. He shared his encounters through humorous pictures and videos. Those of you who witnessed such videos know that no words can begin to describe the creativity of these amusing interjections which were a very much welcomed reprieve from our hectic world of transportation. He took the time to voice the appreciation he had for you and also reminded us to pause and appreciate ourselves. Should he become aware of your curiosities, he’d provide a supportive nudge to move forward with exploration. He was genuinely interested in engaging with all those around him. His mindfulness also fed his intuitive observations in which he never hesitated to express his opinions about - regardless of how difficult it at times was to be received.
From gifting our Operations team flying-stress-relieving toys when our stress usually goes unnoticed to thoughtful postcards while he was vacationing to remind you that you too should take a break. Thomas was just thoughtful and never shied away from interacting with all he cared for. He distributed these random acts of kindness to all those who had the honor of being able to have him as a friend. We will forever miss his insight and laudable personality that won over the hearts of his AFM Family.
