A ride helps Tina show up for work. Let’s show up for her. 🚗 Tina loves her job. But after a car accident left her without a vehicle, she wasn’t sure how she would get to work.

Through New Growth Transit, volunteer drivers help her get there and back home, even when her work schedule changes. Along the way, she’s found something else she appreciates—the conversations and connection with her regular driver, Debbie.

“I don't have to worry about getting back and forth to work,” Tina shared. “So I can just concentrate on my job and do my job.”

We’re sharing Tina’s story because it helps explain why we’re asking for funding to support employment rides in our rural communities.

On Tuesday, October 27, we’re holding a public hearing, and we’d appreciate having you there. If New Growth Transit has helped you, someone you care about, or your community, this is an opportunity to share what those rides mean.

📅October 27 • 1 p.m.
West Central Missouri Community Action Agency
112 W. 4th St., Appleton City, MO

You’re welcome to speak, but you don’t have to. We’d simply be glad to see you.

New Growth Transit’s Kelly Ast and Kenney Hutchison joined fellow advocates at the Advancing Advocacy Workshop in Southwest Missouri on October 8 in Republic for a day of learning, conversation, and connection.

We were proud that Kelly was invited to speak on the Missouri Advocates Panel, bringing New Growth Transit’s perspective to the conversation about supporting rural communities.

Every ride has a person and a story behind it—a neighbor getting to work, someone making it to a medical appointment, or a loved one maintaining their independence. Those everyday needs are why we care so deeply about making transportation accessible.

Thank you, Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH) , and all the organizers, speakers, and participants for bringing people together with a shared commitment to helping our neighbors thrive. 🚗💙

Think about someone you love. Your mom. Your dad. A friend. A neighbor. Now imagine they have an appointment they need to keep—but no way to get there.

You’d want someone to show up for them. Someone dependable. Someone kind. Someone who makes them feel comfortable asking for help.

❤️ You could be that someone.

As a New Growth Transit Volunteer Driver, you offer more than a ride. You offer a friendly conversation, peace of mind, and the comfort of knowing someone cares.

You don’t have to give every day to make a difference. Choose rides that fit your schedule, drive your own vehicle, and receive mileage reimbursement. We’ll provide training and support along the way.

💚 Today is World Mental Health Day 💚 Sometimes a little connection can make a big difference.

A ride. 🚗
A conversation. 💬
A friendly face. 😊
Someone simply asking, “How are you doing?”

At New Growth Transit, we’re reminded every day that transportation is about more than getting somewhere—it’s also about helping people stay connected, independent, and part of their community. ❤️

Today, take a moment to check in on someone you care about.

🫶 And remember, if you or someone you know needs support, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

💚 Connection matters. Kindness matters. Mental health matters.

🍎 MEET THE DRIVERS | World Teachers’ Day 🍎 In honor of World Teachers’ Day, we’re shining the spotlight on one of our wonderful Volunteer Drivers, Brett! ❤️

Before joining New Growth Transit, Brett dedicated his career to education as a teacher and school administrator. Now, he continues making a difference in the lives of others—just from behind the wheel!

🚗 Brett has been a Volunteer Driver with New Growth Transit since 2023, and he truly enjoys the trips he takes and, most importantly, the riders he gets to know and help along the way.

Brett is a great example of how retirement can open the door to a whole new way of serving your community. Thank you, Brett, for the years you spent helping students and for continuing to make a difference with New Growth Transit!

🍎 Could driving be your next chapter?

Our Volunteer Drivers use their own vehicles, choose rides that work with their schedules, receive mileage reimbursement, and help neighbors get where they need to go.

🚙 Your Time. Your Schedule. Your Community.
