PSA
I post a lot of videos to show people how Doug and I keep bees. This has nothing to do with bees, but may be helpful to someone.

When I started seeing a skunk on my surveillance cameras, I decided it was time to remove him. I placed a live trap, baited it, and caught him.

Now what? If I tried to shoot him right there, he may spray the entire back porch. So after consulting with two friends who do animal removals, I learned this is the method you use to move them.

So I removed the skunk and let him go about a mile and a half down the road.

Then I saw another on the camera. So I did it again.

And again.

And again.

And again.

This is number five.

And let me tell you, the adrenaline rush is the same as it was the first time.

(This time, I was a little rough letting it go and he sprayed inside the trap and ruined my blanket. Just being near it required my clothes to stay outside for a couple of days.)

Stay tuned…I will post the concoction that works best to remove skunk spray if you or your dog gets sprayed.

You don't have to have them high in the air.

I've never had a swarm box above 5 feet in the last 5 years. We catch swarms and don't have to worry about breaking our neck getting them down.

Trying to save someone from having to pay for a bee removal.

Looks like a swarm trying to find a new home. The hole they were inspecting was blocked and an empty Nuc with some old comb was placed in the vicinity. Only time will tell.

You can’t catch a fish if you don’t have a hook in the water.

Next generation bee keeper. Maybe.

Beautiful night in the bee yard.
20 turkeys
7 deer (5 ran before I started the camera.)
Still counting the bees….

Robbing!

If you want to see what it looks like when bees try robbing a weaker hive.
