Big tsunamis come every 300 to 600 years, and the last one for the west coast was 315 years ago, which means a disaster could be headed our way.

"The annual Old Fashioned Fly-In is fun for the whole family! Each year 100-150 aircraft attend the Orcas Fly-In from around the country. Come enjoy the best of general aviation! Warbirds, experimentals, old fashioned airplanes, local pilots and seaplanes, aircraft, plus flying demonstrations. There will be a pancake breakfast both days at the Fire Hall from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Also enjoy the Orcas Road Classics car club's most widely known event is the annual car show hosted during the first weekend of August in conjunction with the Fly-In. This year the club has decided to give back to the community and has teamed up with the local Food Bank by accepting cans of food and cash donations for this cause. Car entrants to the show are asked to donate food for the Food Bank and/or $10 as an entrance fee to help this local charity.

The event is sponsored by EAA (Experimental Aircraft Assoc) Chapter 937.
