Silver Queen visiting Massey Aerodrome (MD1) recently for the Chili Fiesta. This Saturday we plan to return for the Potomac Antique Aero Squadron’s 52nd Antique Fly-In to enjoy some beautiful airplanes. The weather forecast is perfect but we’ll still have Joe’s Rehobeth TFR in effect close-by. More details at: https://masseyaero.org/

This image shows what normally and quite often takes place when ships pass under the Key Bridge heading SE towards the Chesapeake Bay. Notice Fort Carroll just beyond the mid-span and Sparrows Point at the top of the image.
To see many more images of the Baltimore Harbor area and (soon to be uploaded) the Key Bridge go to my Gallery. https://aloft.zenfolio.com/photographs

Unloading raw sugar at the Port of Baltimore. These large ships are unloaded within a few days then quickly replaced with the next loaded ship as we all consume sugar more then we’ll admit to.
It’s worry enough to see that diesel loader down there, I sure hope the operator doesn’t chew to***co!

Aloft Biplane Rides has officially ended the 2023 flying season because it’s become too cold out there! The older I become the more I believe in the old adage that suggests not flying an ‘open’ airplane if the outside air temperature is lower then the pilot’s age. A warm ‘Thank You!’ to all my passengers!!

Late in the day last Saturday we flew formation with Terry Fry flying his KitFox with Scotty Bruce onboard behind his camera as we aimed for that low sun over the Bay. I think you will agree that Silver Queen shows well in this light….. she flys great too!

Late in the day a few years ago while flying the Fuji Airship over NYC with the sun low on the horizon, I captured is unusual image of the Chrysler Building. This Art Deco stainless steel architectural treasure normally shines silver as the sun reflects from it. Here is the ‘Golden Hour’ reflection from slightly above.

A few weeks ago, Pete Griffin and I completed a wonderful journey flying the Stearman out to Oshkosh Wisconsin and back to attend EAA Airventure 2023. This was the third consecutive year for the ‘Silver Queen’ and as trouble-free, enjoyable and memorable as trips past. Basically, two days out, 5 days on the field, then all the way back in one long day of flying. Total flight time ESN-MGW-AOH-C56-DLL-OSH-ASW-CDI-EZF-ESN was 18.8 hrs., lots of gas and 4 qts. of oil.
Meet Daisy who stopped by for a visit while parked among 10,000+ aircraft on the aerodrome, we were in the ‘Vintage’ area.
