Mark and Erma fell squarely into the second category this morning.

🎣 IF THIS TABLE COULD TALK… 🎣

It would tell you about screaming drags, bent rods, missed net jobs, a few fish stories that are already getting bigger, and one heck of a morning on Eagle Nest Lake.

Jason Kraft and his crew put together the kind of day anglers dream about.

Their biggest rainbow stretched to 22 inches and 4.5 pounds, but the real story is spread across that entire cleaning table.
Trout stacked from one end to the other, a bonus northern pike, and enough fresh fillets to make the drive home a whole lot sweeter.

And can we talk about that young man holding the big rainbow?
That’s the look every guide loves to see.
A smile that says, “Yep… I’m definitely doing this again.”

These are the days that become family legends.

🐟🔥ABSOLUTE. HOG. OF. A. KOKANEE. 🔥🐟

Still pending the state’s official filing, but folks… we may have witnessed a new record.

Bill Lewallen of Sparks, Nevada landed this incredible Kokanee Salmon measuring 23 inches and weighing 5 pounds, 2 ounces!

Let that sink in for a minute.

Most anglers are thrilled to catch a Kokanee.
Bill caught one that had people gathered around the cleaning table shaking their heads in disbelief.

When we filleted this fish last night, the slabs were so big they will practically fill the smoker racks by themselves.
That’s not your average Kokanee.

Whether the paperwork confirms what we’re all thinking or not, this is without question one of the most impressive Kokanee we’ve ever seen, and it came out of Eagle Nest Lake!

I don’t know about y’all, but I’m impressed.

Congratulations, Bill!
That’s a fish you’ll be talking about for the rest of your life—and one Eagle Nest Lake won’t soon forget, if ever.

🌧️🎣 The rain showers timed themselves just about perfectly for our fishermen on Eagle Nest Lake today! 🎣🌧️

We had guides on the water, pontoon rentals out enjoying the lake, and judging by the fish coming across the dock, everyone seemed to leave happy today!

Tom Robertson of Oklahoma City jumped on a last-minute opening for a guided trip and put a beautiful 22-inch, 3.5-pound Rainbow Trout in the net. That’s the kind of fish that makes a day on the water memorable.

But the surprise of the day may have belonged to Bill Lewallen of Sparks, Nevada. Bill and his family rented a pontoon this morning and shortly after they started casting, he landed an absolutely gorgeous 23”, 5-pound Kokanee Salmon!

Not only is that an incredible Kokanee for Eagle Nest Lake, but it may very well be a fish that gets people talking. 👀
