Pet of the month: Meet Murphy, our employee's 7-year-old Springer Spaniel with two speeds: GO and cuddle.
When the weather is nice, Murphy would happily spend the entire day outside in the backyard, and yes, that is entirely his choice. He’s an energetic guy who loves the outdoors, especially trips to North Dakota where he gets to put his Springer Spaniel instincts to work hunting and chasing pheasants and grouse.
But there is one thing that may rival his love of the great outdoors: a tennis ball. Murphy’s favorite toy goes just about everywhere with him, and if given the option, he’d probably carry one around 24/7.
For all that daytime energy, Murphy has a softer side, too. He’s an incredibly gentle and patient family dog, especially with the young kids in the house. And once the day is done, the hunting is over, and the tennis ball has hopefully been surrendered, Murphy transforms into a giant cuddlebug who loves settling in with his family.
Fun fact: Murphy was born in a barn just outside Pella, Iowa—home of Pella windows! Apparently, quality craftsmanship isn't the only good thing to come out of Pella.
