Friday, August 28, 2026
The weekend begins with the Opening Press Conference at the Mississippi State Capitol in Jackson, Mississippi, followed by an evening of remembrance featuring the Hear My Voice: Are You Listening? Civic Engagement Program, a Candlelight Vigil, and a special screening of the TILL Movie and talk back with members of the Till family, film producer Keith Beauchamp, veterans of the civil rights movement, impacted families and distinguished guests.

At 12:00 Noon CST, supporters around the world are invited to participate in A Time for Unity in Black and White by wearing black and white, observing a moment of silence, speaking Emmett Till's name, honoring those whose lives were taken by racism, hatred, and violence, and sharing messages of remembrance.

Saturday, August 29, 2026
Experience the Till Trail of Tears and Terror Educational Tour, a powerful, life-changing journey through the Mississippi Delta. Participants will visit historic sites, museums, memorials, and Emmett Till and Mamie Till Mobley National Monument locations that tell the true story of Emmett Till's final journey and the movement it inspired.

Sunday, August 30, 2026
The commemoration concludes with a faith based Worship in White church service at Farish Street Baptist Church. Worship alongside the Till Legacy Family, celebrating the faith, courage, and resilience of Mamie Till Mobley and generations of the Till (Smith/Reese) family, followed by Breaking Bread Together, a community gathering and send off to include a good meal, fellowship, reflection, and remembrance.

History didn’t fall apart because of a speech.
It unraveled because a security guard refused to look away.

In 1972, Frank Wills was working the night shift at the Watergate complex when he noticed something small but wrong. Doors taped open. He removed the tape. It came back. He trusted his instincts and made a phone call.

That call exposed a burglary tied to the White House.
That burglary exposed a cover-up.
That cover-up ended a presidency.

Frank Wills was not powerful.
He was not protected.
He was not rewarded.

He lost his job. Struggled financially. Died without the recognition he deserved.

But the truth is this:
American democracy held because one ordinary Black man chose integrity over silence.

Watergate is remembered as a political scandal.
It should also be remembered as a lesson.

Power collapses when watched closely.
History changes when someone does the right thing quietly.
And heroes do not always wear suits or stand at podiums.

Sometimes they carry keys.
Sometimes they work the night shift.
Sometimes they make one phone call.

Remember Frank Wills.

Long before computers were trusted to guide spaceflight, Katherine Johnson was already doing the math that carried America into space and brought its astronauts home.

Born in 1918 in West Virginia, Johnson was a prodigy who started high school at 10 and graduated college summa cm laude at 18. Her talent was so exceptional that a professor created an advanced geometry course just for her, steering her toward research mathematics at a time when few Black women were allowed near it.

In 1953, she joined NASA’s predecessor as a “human computer,” calculating flight paths by hand. Her work shaped Alan Shepard’s first American spaceflight and John Glenn’s historic orbital mission. Glenn famously insisted she verify the computer’s numbers before launch. If Katherine Johnson said it was right, it was right.

Her calculations guided Mercury missions, Apollo 11’s moon landing, Apollo 13’s safe return, and early Space Shuttle designs. She co-authored 26 research papers, became the first woman in her division credited as an author, and asked questions others avoided until the answers made sense.

Katherine Johnson did not just help America reach space.
She proved that precision, persistence, and curiosity can move the universe itself.
