So on Thursday I wasn’t having a great day. You know, one of those days where you can’t put your finger exactly on the whys or hows, but you’re feeling sad and lonely. I’m sure missing Tessie was a big part of it. Anyway, I called my sister just to talk it out, because she’s one of my “people”. On Friday these arrived, with a note telling me that she hoped they would help brighten my day. .sullivan.7 they are gorgeous, and every time I look at them, I feel loved. Thank you for being the amazing human that you are. I’m so lucky to have you in my life. ❤️❤️❤️

And that’s a wrap! Meet Gertie 2.0! The very most enormous thanks to Jill from for helping me make this happen, and to Jill and Robert for the fantastic installation. Making this machine level on my insane floors was a feat unto itself. Time for dinner, then some quilting!

Sewing room in Lancaster is making some significant progress. My cross stitch by my son and daughter in law is back in a prominent spot. Tomorrow my longarm arrives!!!

To all of my friends and customers, Happy Holidays!

As many of you are aware, 2023 was quite the year at Frolicking Threads, and included our need to move the studio in February. I would be remiss if I did not publicly thank my guy, Roy, and dear friends, Casey, Sue, and Nancy for their unwavering support throughout the event. Thanks also to all of my customers, who showed patience and grace in the midst of the crisis.

In the spring I began contemplating what I wanted the future of Frolicking Threads to look like. I knew it was time to slow down, and spend more time with family and friends. I also wanted more time to sew and quilt for them. There is no greater joy than having your grandson squeal with excitement, over a shirt you made him. I need more of that feeling in my life!

To that end, in 2024 I will be taking a break from quilting for the public, and focusing my energy on my family and friends. Frolicking Threads will be moving out of the current studio space early in the year. We will be having a fabric sale in January or February, and I invite you to watch for an announcement regarding the dates.

Aren’t our ghosts great?!!!! Thank you to for piecing the top. One Robert Kaufman fat quarter bundle, 3 yards of background fabric, Ghost pattern from and voila! We used leftovers from the ghosts and FQ bundle to make our backing (plus about 3/4 yard of orange solid). We have the fat quarter bundles for $75 (free shipping in US) and can make you up the entire kit if needed. DM if you need one.
