Pardoning anyone for violating the law should be removed as a Presidential power, and don't see any of his pardons as anything but grifting padding his pocket, and approval of lies and the con. However, diesel emission systems, known as exhaust after treatment systems, are poorly engineered and reduce power and are more expensive to operate. As well, they don't work with our biodiesel from food waste, the only fuel that achieves lower life cycle emissions to be classified as meeting climate goals. They use a combination of mechanical and chemical components to dramatically reduce harmful pollutants like particulate matter and nitrogen oxides (\(NO_{x}\)). This process typically relies on four major stages: Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)."

This is what a loser's July 4 spectacle looks like: 850,000 fireworks, the worst air quality of any major city on Earth, a Code Red alert for kids and seniors, and 22 people rushed to hospitals for cardiac and blood-pressure emergencies.
That same Friday, he pardoned nine men convicted of stripping pollution controls off diesel trucks.
The city's health department issued a Code Red alert. Officials warned that seniors, kids, and people with medical conditions were breathing unhealthy air, and told everyone else to limit time outside.
Particulate matter across DC climbed to 6.7 times its pre-fireworks level, peaking around 4 a.m. Sunday. Every one of the 26 sensors in a joint study by Clarity Movement and the DC environment department hit "unhealthy for sensitive groups."
Southwest DC registered the worst readings. The smoke likely drifted into Arlington, but nobody had bothered to install sensors there.
This came on top of triple-digit heat. DC Fire and EMS treated 51 people for heat-related illness at the Freedom 250 celebration alone. Twelve were hospitalized.
Another 22 were transported for cardiac events, blood-pressure spikes, and other emergencies.
The show, roughly fifty times the size of a normal Fourth of July display, was Trump's idea. He called it "the Most Spectacular Fireworks Show I have ever seen, and I've seen them all."
He also spent Friday afternoon signing pardons for nine people convicted under the Clean Air Act. One of them, Jonathan Achtemeier, was convicted of tampering with hundreds of trucks so they belched 30 to 1,200 times the legal amount of emissions.
Trump called these men victims of a "weaponized" Justice Department, persecuted for "fixing their car."
The same administration has spent six months exempting polluters from emissions rules, boosting coal, and instructing the EPA to stop counting how many lives are saved by restricting soot and ozone.
On the Fourth of July, the president stood before a record-shattering pyrotechnic display and freed the men who built careers making the air worse.
The kid with asthma in Southwest DC didn't get to watch the show. Neither did her grandmother. They got the Code Red alert, ordered to stay indoors, while the president boasted about the biggest firework display in human history.
Once again it's obvious where this administration's values lie. A sleazy showman is betting that big enough booms will drown out tanking poll numbers and a wrecked government sold off to donors.
