18 days, 9 states, 111hrs 12 minutes drive time, 5129 miles, 271 gallons of gas! We had an absolute wonderful trip with many memories made. Thankful to be home and sleeping in our own beds tonight!

Yesterday we stopped for the night in Ouray,CO. We enjoyed dinner at a Ouray Brewery, relaxing in the hot springs and taking a stroll through town. This morning we hit the Million Dollar Highway with a quick stop for breakfast at Kendall Mountain Cafe in Silverton, Co. I am so thankful Travis drives through the mountains so I can take in all the scenery and look for waterfalls! This afternoon we will make our way in to Taos,NM for the night.

Shoshone Falls is referred to as the “Niagara of the West”. It is located on the Snake River in Twin Falls, ID and is one of the largest natural waterfalls in the US (212 ft tall, 900 ft wide). I could sit and listen to the sounds of waterfalls all day long, they truly are my favorite!

On Wednesday (6/21) we hiked Ape Caves down into a lava tunnel at Mount St. Helens (we did the lower tunnel as it was less of a challenge but still 1.5 miles). It was are really cold (42°F), dark (we brought our flashlights) and neat experience! Ape Cave was formed nearly 2000 years ago and was discovered in 1950.

We took a drive to the Hood River Fruit Loop in Hood River Valley. We explored a few of the farms, wineries, cideries and fields of flowers! Hannah picked lavender from Hope Lavendar Ranch, we enjoyed fresh fruit, salsa and ice cream from Packers Orchard & Farm Place, ciders from Draper Girls and the Gorge White House! It was all around a fun day but our favorite was Hope Lavender Ranch!

Multnomah Falls is a waterfall located in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. We hiked all the way to the top! 11 switch backs up hill followed by the same 11 switch backs downhill!

Olympic National Park & Pacific Ocean-Washington

Today we visited Hoh Rainforest, which is 1 of 4 rainforests in Olympic National Park. We hiked the Hall of Mosses Trail and the Spruce Nature Trail. We walked among three hundred feet tall, thousand year old trees!

We also visited Ruby Beach and Kalaloch Campground, home of the Tree of Life. We enjoyed dipping our toes in the Pacific Ocean and being splashed by waves rolling in!

To end the day we drove past Kurt Cobain’s childhood home (Travis insisted!)
