𝘏𝘦𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘵 arrived with the sunrise today, delivering a variety of breakbulk cargo and containers to our multimodal logistics hub.

She's one of several Spliethoff vessels engaged in the Great Lakes Express liner service, which connects Duluth with global ports in Europe and the Mediterranean.

The service provides cargo flexibility and efficient transport to and from North America's farthest-inland seaport, with twice-monthly sailings and 15-day transit times.🌐🚢

Yesterday, tugboat 𝘔𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘈𝘴𝘩𝘵𝘰𝘯 and a deck barge loaded with project cargo became the first vessel in decades to dock at our rebuilt Berth 10. The 667-foot berth, along with adjacent Berth 11, opened for use following a $10.5 million reconstruction project completed in March 2025. We're excited for the expanded capacity and efficiency this project created at our multimodal logistics hub, which now features six berths suited for heavy-lift cargo handling, plus even more laydown space for dimensional pieces.

Industry leaders offered energetic projections for 2026 in the latest issue of 𝘉𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘣𝘶𝘭𝘬 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘦:

▸Energy-related cargoes will drive growth, with simultaneous expansion underway across a broad sweep of energy sector infrastructure: wind, oil and gas, nuclear, mining and more.

▸Energy transition projects will add to that volume, fueling demand for complex and heavy cargo logistics.

We’re seeing those same signals, with shipments representing a wide swath of the energy sector on our 2026 schedule.
