Maersk Line, Limited will launch a new development opportunity for licensed engineering officers in Q4 2024. 🚢 🌊 ⭐ The program is designed to attract and assist those who wish to continue having a meaningful and fulfilling maritime career while transitioning from deep sea to shoreside. The Ship Superintendent Development program will equip participants with the skills needed to be a Ship Superintendent at Maersk Line, Limited. Development milestones and performance objectives will be used to keep participants on track and progressing through the program. Ship operations are highly dynamic, and progress will depend on the individual's skills, experience level, and motivation.
To qualify for this program, candidates must have a US Coast Guard unlimited horsepower Marine Engineering license and be actively sailing within two years. Qualified individuals are hired as an Assistant Ship Superintendent, a full-time permanent shoreside position. Through on-the-job training, mentoring, job shadowing, formal training, and demonstration of competencies, the candidate will be expected to advance to Ship Superintendent when opportunities arise.
