OUR VETERANS!! 🛟💪🏼

During training, our veteran lifeguards did an exceptional job! They worked hard not only to sharpen their own skills, but also to help train and mentor our rookie (first-year) lifeguards.

Their leadership, dedication, and commitment to the team set a great example and helped create a strong foundation for a successful summer season. We’re proud of the hard work they put in and grateful for the positive impact they have on and off the beach! 🌊☀️

This Memorial Day, we take time to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. To those remembering loved ones today, we are thinking of you.

With many Surf Rescue alumni serving in the military, we are especially grateful for their service and sacrifice in protecting our freedom. Thank you will never be enough. 🇺🇸

LIFEGUARDS ON DUTY!! 🛟🌊☀️

Over the last week and a half, our veteran and rookie lifeguards have been working hard during our Summer 2026 training! As our rookie lifeguards finish training this weekend, our veteran guards are on duty & working on the beach.

Thank you to our SO crew worked hard to get the lifeguard stands on the beach.

Stop by one of our lifeguard stands and ask about local beach and ocean conditions. Our lifeguard stand locations are:

Southern Shores:
• Hillcrest
• Dogwood
• Triangle
• Chicahauk

National Park Service:
• Coquina
• Rodanthe
• Buxton
• Frisco
• Ocracoke

Know the signs of a rip current:
• Darker water
• Fewer breaking waves
• Choppy or foamy water
• Water moving away from shore

If caught in a rip current: stay calm, float, and swim parallel to shore.
