Special PSA for everyone travelling to Easton. There is absolutely no cellular data connection in the vicinity of Easton and Easton Town Center, among other areas. And they got rid of their public WiFi. So this makes paying for the bus via the Transit app essentially impossible. Please be mindful of this fact should you travel out there.

Thanks everyone for your help in reaching out to the House so that we could restore the Passenger Rail Budget! Thank you All Aboard Ohio and BulletTrains USA.com for spreading the word, this marks a great victory for the transportation networks here in the Heartland!

Budget passed by Ohio House would fund return to regional passenger rail group

Three routes in or through the state — Cleveland-Toledo-Detroit; Cleveland-Columbus-Cincinnati, and Chicago-Fort Wayne-Columbus-Pittsburgh — were among those selected for the Federal Railroad Administration’s Corridor Identification and Development Program in 2023

So. What is this we are hearing about people sending Death Threats regarding the SS United States?? We don't have enough context to know if they're being sent to Okaloosa Board of County Commissioners, the New York Coalition to Save the SS United States , or any of the ship's past owners, but that is absolutely NOT the way any of y'all should be going about this.

We already are well aware that the Coalition does NOT promote any kind of violence or hatred, so please do not perpetuate such energy, it only makes it less likely for us to save the ship.
And for those who threaten the coalition, we ask you to step back and think about why? What is the benefit to being rude to each other instead of being peaceful?
And for those of you in Okaloosa County, if you all read this post, we ask why you all are determined to sink the SS United States instead of looking for possible alternatives, is it because of the folk who send threats and the like? Do not let those violent people sway your minds against the Coalition, as the violence is something that they are directly against. We have attended two of their live calls, they want to talk peacefully and work together.

Maybe you all can find a good solution that doesn't involve sinking SS United States, besides, she would make significantly more money above the water compared to under it, but that's just a basic business perspective.

Sincerely, Julian D Ackerman.

Special thanks to BulletTrains USA.com for bringing this to our attention. Seems our ability to get proper passenger rail here in Central Ohio, and the State as a whole, might be under attack from politicians via Budget cuts. Instructions are included in the initial post we're forwarding for how to contact those in charge so we can get rail back on the budget!

The meeting that the New York Coalition to Save the SS United States held went well tonight, they're planning to try to do these meetings weekly.
Anyways, part of the reason why we're now trying to promote them and their efforts to save the SS United States is due to the similarities between what's happening with her now, and what happened to our Columbus Union Station.
For those of you who do not know, both the Columbus Union Station's arcade and the SS United States were put on the National Register of Historic Places. And it seems that Okaloosa County is potentially, though we have no solid confirmation as of now, following a similar path to what Battelle did when they destroyed the Arcade. Bypassing laws and plans to get the destruction done as quickly as possible. We read the comments on many posts giving updates to work being done on SS US, many people regularly say that they're doing it sooner to "shut up" the efforts to save her, which heavily parallels the fact that Battelle illegally demolished Union Station's Arcade in the middle of the night, save for one lone arch. Eventually we'll try to do a video on site talking about these parallels and why we must not let SS United States befall the same fate, as like Columbus and Union Station, we as a country will regret sinking our flagship in due time.
While we were not around to save Union Station, we're around to save SS United States. Let's prevent history from repeating itself and take her home.

Photos credited to our founder, Mr Julian Ackerman.
They show where Union Station once stood as of today, as well as the sole arch that remains.

There is another meeting coming up with the New York Coalition to Save the SS United States as of tonight. We might appear in the comments as there are parallels between what Okaloosa County is doing to the SS United States and what Battelle did to to Columbus Union Station back in the 70's. We are standing at Union Station Arch as we type this.

Join us tonight for a special Friday Livestream. 6:30PT/ 9:30ET. https://meet.google.com/ste-xmdx-jrs

Tonight we would like to give a shoutout to the New York Coalition to Save the SS United States , and their work to preserve the United States flagship, SS United States herself. She's a beautiful piece of transportation history and a national treasure. Please support their efforts to conserve our flagship.
Sincerely, Julian Ackerman

Don't you love when your page leader corrects a post that's clearly just propaganda, as it was a claim that China broke the world rail speed record at 287 MPH or so, when the actual record holders are the French at 357.2 MPH, only for someone from a country that doesn't have High Speed Rail to try to say your own, America, doesn't have any and that it's an "L Bozo?". If they somehow see this post, this was written directly by the head of this page, whomst they were so rude to. In all honesty though, we do believe America needs High Speed Rail, but we do not support the toxicity of some people about it, so instead, let's just laugh at the irony that someone wanted to use the lack of America's proper High Speed Rail against us when their own country also lacks such.

Did you know that there can often be a ten minute discrepancy between the time that COTA Gives the Transit App for passengers to plan transfers over four hours in advance and the times they give their bus drivers to arrive at said stops? We have noticed this seems to be a common trend along lines such as the eight especially. It's extremely frustrating as we have filed complaints via phone calls with them before over this matter and nothing has been done still. This has been occuring for almost two years as of when we started looking into it. This is not a good outlook for the Transit company that claims to want to move the people, since those discrepancies mean that such transfers the app claims are possible aren't in reality.

After running into some technical issues, in that Google My Maps has a limit on how many layers a map can have, we have had to break our map of Columbus Transport History into multiple different Maps, each separate one of a different "Era" of our transport history. The new maps include a Horsecar Era one, and a Streetcar Era one.

Special thanks to the Columbus Metropolitan Library - Main Library for allowing us access to their 1937 map of Columbus so we could start adding the 1937 layer to our digital master map of the Columbus Transportation History.

So, The Columbus Dispatch once said the CEO of COTA was making more money than the leaders of CEO's of similar sized transit companies. Why are we seeing tape being used on an active transit vehicle to hold something together/shut if the company can justify paying the CEO that much. Vehicle was a 1900 series photographed on COTA Line 8 heading South today.
