Late Saturday night off the coast of Sant'Agostino (Tarquinia), a 10-meter pleasure boat crashed onto the rocks, throwing five people into rough surf. With shallow reefs making it impossible for the Coast Guard’s patrol boat (CP 891) to approach without running aground 200 meters away, the situation turned critical.

Guided from afar through complete darkness and pounding surf, the U-SAFE cut directly across the rocks to reach the castaways. All five occupants managed to grab onto and attach to the device and were safely pulled through the shallows back to the patrol boat.

This is what happens when exceptional seamanship meets life-saving robotics. Technology doesn’t replace first responders—it gives them the reach to save lives where humanly impossible.

🌊 𝐀𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐮𝐥𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭.

Dauphin Island Public Safety just added the U SAFE remote-controlled rescue device to their team's toolkit — giving first responders a way to reach swimmers in distress 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞𝐫'𝐬 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐟 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐢𝐩 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬.

As Public Safety Supervisor Gorlott put it: "𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒖𝒍𝒇 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒉𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒔𝒘𝒊𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓." Now, with the push of a joystick, any member of the department can deploy the device from an elevated vantage point and reach two swimmers at once — day or night, from their patrol vehicles or beach UTVs.

This is exactly the kind of proactive investment in first-responder and community safety we love to see.

A historic visit to Miami by an extraordinary vessel! ⚓🇵🇪

It was a true honor to welcome the majestic training ship B.A.P. Unión (BEV-161) of the Peruvian Navy (Marina de Guerra del Perú) during their port call in Miami last week.

Our team had the immense privilege of conducting a live demonstration of U-SAFE aboard the vessel, showcasing a rapid-response Man Overboard (MOB) rescue exercise. Demonstrating our remote-controlled lifesaving technology alongside such skilled naval officers and cadetes was an incredible experience.

A sincere thank-you to the Commander, officers, crew, and cadets of the B.A.P. Unión for your hospitality, professionalism, and dedication to maritime safety.

Fair winds and following seas on the remainder of your voyage! 🌊⛵
¡Buenos vientos y buena mar!

"A couple years ago we lost a deputy—he got in the water and drowned trying to save somebody. It takes us out of the water..."

That powerful statement from Cpl. Holt Johnson of the County Sheriff's Office underscores exactly why U-SAFE exists.

During a recent rescue at Fort Morgan, AL, two teenagers were swept offshore by strong currents on a beach with no active lifeguards. Instead of risking additional lives by sending deputies into dangerous surf, the team deployed U-SAFE from shore.

The device reached the swimmers instantly, auto-activated upon hitting the water, and allowed deputies to safely navigate the teens back to dry land.

Key features highlighted by 10 News - WALA:
🔹 Auto-activation the second it hits the water
🔹 Controlled throttle that stabilizes once a victim grabs hold
🔹 Full operator control from the safety of the beach
🔹 Capability for multiple back-to-back rescue deployments

A huge thank-you to Mitchell and the team at 10 News - WALA for this in-depth report on the future of water rescue, and immense gratitude to Sheriff Lowery and the County Sheriff's Office for their trust in U-SAFE.

Every second counts when lives are on the line. 🌊🛟

We are proud to see the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office successfully deploy U-SAFE to safely rescue two teenagers caught in a strong offshore current off Fort Morgan, Alabama.

With zero need for deputies to risk entering hazardous waters, the remote-controlled device reached the swimmers rapidly and brought them safely back to shore.

"It takes us out of the water... We're grateful for the tools that help us protect both our Deputies and the public because out here, seconds matter."
— Cpl. Holt Johnson, Coastal Enforcement, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

A sincere thank-you to NBC 15 News (WPMI) for highlighting this rescue and the critical role technology plays in modern first-responder safety. Most importantly, thank you to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office for your dedication to keeping beachgoers safe every day.
