📝 DDOT is seeking individuals from these districts to join the Local Advisory Council (LAC) Board. The LAC serves as a foundation to improve transit services in the community for Older Adults and Persons with Disabilities, and to provide recommendations & input to transit advisors. Consider applying if you are interested! 🚌

Monday, September 7, the metro Detroit AFL-CIO affiliates and Teamsters unions will host their annual Labor Day parade.
📍 The parade meets at Trumbull & Michigan and proceeds east on Michigan Ave.
🚫 Road closures begin at approximately 6 a.m. and end at approximately 3 p.m.

🚌 Reroutes are as follows:
➡ 2-Michigan Eastbound: From Michigan, to left on Rosa Parks Boulevard, to right on Martin Luther King Drive, to right on Grand River Avenue, into Rosa Parks Transit Center.
➡ 2-Michigan Westbound: From east on Grand River Avenue, to left on Washington Boulevard, to left on Clifford, to left on Middle, to right on Grand River Avenue, to left on Martin Luther King Boulevard, to left on 14th, to right on Michigan, to continue as normal.
➡ 29-Linwood Eastbound: From regular route, to left on Sycamore, to right on Grand River Avenue, into Rosa Parks Transit Center.
➡ 29-Linwood Westbound: From east on Grand River Avenue, to left on Washington Boulevard, to left on Clifford, to left on Middle, to right on Grand River Avenue, to left on Sycamore, to right on Trumbull, to continue as normal.

Happy Friday Detroit!

We made it through some severe weather this week, and now Labor Day weekend is here with plenty happening across the city, from the Detroit Jazz Festival and Art on the Ave to the kickoff of Detroit Design Month. 🎷🎨

Our operators will be busy keeping Detroit moving, and we're glad to hear more riders noticing improvements in service. 🚌🙌

Special shout-out to our Transit Mentors for helping newer operators sharpen their driving skills, customer service, and confidence. 👏

📝 The public can submit feedback about these changes! You have until this Friday, September 4, 2026, to leave a comment via email at [email protected], through U.S. Postal Mail to our 100 Mack Ave. office, or to our Customer Service Department at (313) 933-1300.

🚌 Proposed service changes include on-time performance improvements, span & frequency improvements on certain routes, and rerouting based on previous requests.
