Ruan A family-owned dedicated logistics provider since 1932. Ruan was founded during a very challenging time. It was the Great Depression.

John Ruan’s father had passed away and someone needed to provide for the family. So, despite the risk, the 18-year-old sold his family’s car, bought a truck and began hauling gravel around Iowa. Ruan Transportation Management Systems was born. Today, since that first load of gravel was shoveled by hand, Ruan continues to research and develop innovations in technology, equipment and safety. Members of our Des Moines Campus team recently participated in the Central Iowa Heart Walk to support the American Heart Association by walking together and raising funds for lifesaving research and community health programs. Their participation reflects Ruan’s ongoing commitment to service, a value rooted in the philanthropic vision of our founder, John Ruan. Congratulations to our drivers who represented Ruan at the Florida Truck Driving Championships. We are proud of the hard work they demonstrated while competing against some of the state’s most skilled professional drivers.

Final Results:
• Ashley G. — 20th out of 44 competitors in the 4-Axle Division
• Linda W. (Rookie) — 30th out of 35 competitors in the 5-Axle Division
• Joel F. (Rookie) — 17th out of 25 competitors in the Tank Truck Division
• Jeremy H. (Rookie) — 22nd out of 30 competitors in the Sleeper Truck Division

This past weekend, the Maryland and Delaware State Truck Driving Championships took place, bringing together professional drivers from across the state to demonstrate their skills, knowledge, and commitment to road safety. The competition challenges drivers in areas such as vehicle inspection, a written test, and a driving obstacle course, all designed to highlight the high professional standards within the trucking industry.

David H. earned 1st place in the Flatbed division and will advance to the National Truck Driving Championships later this year.
